UPDATE: HARRISON COUNTY (KYTX) - Heartlight Ministries has notified the Harrison County Sheriff's Office about the return of the 2 missing persons from their campus.

Madeline Apple and Andrew Hill were spotted by counselors of Heartlight in Longview at an EZ Mart convenience store on McCann Rd at approximately 8:45 PM on Thursday evening, January 10, 2013.

Madeline had contacted her mother by telephone and after the phone conversation, the mother notified Longview Police and Heartlight to advise them of the general location of the missing persons. The father of Ms. Apple was also in Longview and assisted with the return of his daughter to the facility.

Harrison County Sheriff's dispatch received numerous telephone calls regarding sightings of the pair since the information was released.

Sheriff McCool stated the response from the public and media is credited as a factor in the return and safety of the pair.

UPDATE: Harrison County Sheriff's Office Deputy Jay Webb said the "alert citizen" who notified Heartlight Ministries' management was the missing girl's mother.

According to Webb, 17-year-old Madeline Apple called her mother some time Thursday evening, which led authorities to the "general area" of where Apple and 17-year-old Andrew Hill were located. Apple's father and Longview Police Department officers later converged on the pair at the EZ-Mart convenience store on McCann Road at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday and returned them to Heartlight, Webb said.

"They didn't try to break and run," Webb said. "After being gone for four days in the rain and cold, they were probably ready to get back."
