PEARLAND (KHOU) -- Police have arrested an 11-year-old for saying he would bring a gun to his middle school.

Pearland police said another student heard the fifth-grader say that he had a "bad day" on Wednesday and that he planned to bring a gun Rogers Middle School on Thursday.

Officials said other witnesses confirmed the threat being made.

The Brazoria County District Attorney's Office filed a terroristic threat charge against the 11-year-old.

The student was not allowed to go to the school on Thursday and police arrested him around 1 p.m. He was taken to the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Facility.
