LONGVIEW (KYTX) - The Longview man involved in the crash that severely injured Longview Police Officer Leigh Ann Snyder appeared in Gregg County's 188th District Court Friday morning.

Ramon Antonio Dominguez entered a plea of guilty to two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury for hurting Snyder and Courtney Walker, who was participating in the ride along program at the time of the accident.

Judge David Brabham sentenced Dominguez to eight years on one count and four years on count two.

"When I see you on the news, it hurts... I  messed up your life. I messed up my life. If I could spend the rest of my life paying your medical bills, I would... I'm sorry, " said Dominguez to Snyder who was also present during the hearing.

Snyder thanked everyone for supporting her since the accident. "I will never forget the kindness for as long as I live," she said.

Due to her injuries from the accident, Snyder has not been able to return to work for the city of Longview and on December 11, 2012 was terminated because of city policy.
