TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - The Tyler Police Department was looking for an armed man who robbed a dollar store Monday evening.

The clerk at the Family Dollar Store, 510 South-Southwest Loop 323, told officers a man pulled up his shirt to flash a handgun and demanded money around 9:45 p.m., according to a news release from the department.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he ran north across Front Street into a wooded area, the release states. Officers searched the woods but were unable to find the bandit.

The man was described by the clerk and a witness as a black male between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches in height and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds. He was wearing a dark ski mask with shark emblem on it, a white shirt, dark jeans and was wearing a dark hooded jacket. He had a sty under his right eye.

No one was injured during the incident.

Anyone with information about the man involved in the robbery is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).
