Victim identified in fatal crash on Highway 135 in Kilgore

Kilgore Police Department:

KILGORE (KYTX) -- On January 18, 2013 Kilgore Police Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on State Highway 135 North (North of Goforth Road) Kilgore, Texas.

Upon arrival, police found a white pickup had crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer. Initial investigation revealed the tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on State Highway 135 and turning into a business parking lot when a white pick-up which was also traveling north crashed into the back of the trailer.

The driver of the white pick-up, identified as 20-year-old Ruben Rios of Kilgore was found to be deceased. The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as 47-year-old Christopher Parrish of Whitehouse sustained no injuries.

The cause of the crash is undetermined and still under investigation by the Kilgore Police Department with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
