Gourmet food truck owner Geo Kwai is creating more than just delicious desserts. He is using his life experiences to help end hunger while being cool.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 24, 2013
Cool Cow gourmet dessert truck has teamed up with local charities in an effort to fight hunger.
Established just one year ago, Cool Cow is a mobile food truck serving Los Angeles County that specializes in creating organic, ultra premium, gelato sorbet by using natural, fresh and organic ingredients. However, creating tasty ice cream bars isn’t all the company prides itself on.
“Cool Cow is a unique company,” said owner Geo Kwai. “On the outside, we’re a small boutique dessert bar, but what separates us from our competition is our message,” he said. “We realize that social awareness is an important responsibility to the planet and the people that live in it.”
Not only does Kwai make sure that each gelato bar is made using 100% biodegradable materials, he has generously offered to donate $.25 for each “Be Cool” signature ice-cream stick returned from customers towards Cool Cow’s campaign to end hunger.
“Our partnership with local charities and food banks allows us to translate twenty-five cents into one meal for the hungry,” Kwai said. “One stick equals one meal.”
Kwai’s passion to fight hunger was inspired by his surroundings. “I’ve lived in and out of Downtown L.A. for the past 5 years and I also owned a business prior to Cool Cow that was located on 6th and Los Angeles - an area of Downtown L.A .known as skid row,” he said. “I couldn’t believe that people in the world still slept in tents on the street. That left a lasting impact on me and inspired me to give back to the community of Downtown L.A. through Cool Cow.”
