UPDATE: Suspect arrested, Greenville ISD no longer under lock-down

UPDATE: GREENVILLE (KYTX) - KYTX CBS 19 received word from the Greenville Police Department at 11:50 a.m. that the armed suspect had been apprehended and that the campuses were cleared from external lock-down.

A Student Resource Officer will remain at Bowie Elementary for the remainder of the afternoon since the situation was located closest to this school. The external doors of all GISD campuses will remain locked as is routine and staff will remain extra vigilant to all campus visitors. Please note that the suspects GPD were seeking today were not associated with the Kaufman prosecutor murder.

GREENVILLE (KYTX) - Greenville ISD was alerted by the Greenville Police Department that they are searching for an armed suspect.

Following police protocol, Bowie Elementary, Travis Elementary, the Greenville Sixth Grade Center and the Greenville High School immediately went under external lock-down. Should we be made aware that the suspect could be in the vicinity of any other GISD campuses, those campuses will also go under external lock-down.
