Gunman chokes, beats, rapes Houston woman in her 60s

HOUSTON (KHOU) — Police are searching a northwest Houston neighborhood for a man who brutally beat and raped a woman in her 60s early Friday.

The victim was attacked in the 1500 block of Dewalt Street as she was walking to her car. The suspect forced her back inside her house at gunpoint.

Police say she was choked, hit with a vase, threatened at knifepoint and sexually assaulted.

"Here is a lady who was doing her thing, gonna go off to work, and she was brutally attacked and sexually assaulted," said Houston police officer Orus Baldwin.

The victim is now at the hospital. Crime scene investigators are searching her home for evidence. The victim's family says they hope the cops catch this guy before they do.

"She is pretty shook up," said the victim's cousin, Darrell Scott. "I wish I was around because the way he handled her, I would've handed him that way. It hurts, really. I hope that somebody catches him."

Police officers were going door to door in the Acres Homes neighborhood, trying to find the suspect.

"We want to find this guy before he hurts somebody, and ends up getting more aggressive and kills somebody," said Baldwin.

The suspect is described as a stocky black male, about 6 feet tall and 225 lbs. He was wearing a navy shirt and pants.

The victim said he left on foot, so police believe he may still be in the area.

It takes about 200 years for one aluminum can to break down in a landfill. When you recycle your cans though, they can be melted down and made into anything that's aluminum.
