Former Navy Seal Found Dead in North Texas

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) --  A former Navy Seal is shot and killed at a North Texas gun range Saturday.

Thirty-eight-year-old Chris Kyle holds the most career sniper kills in U.S. military history but on Saturday Kyle and another man were found dead at a shooting range in Glen Rose.

Police found 25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh a short time later, and after a brief chase he was arrested.

The second man killed is 35-year-old Chad Littlefield.

Authorities have not released a motive.

According to Texas Highway Patrolman Lonny Haschel, " He traveled back to his residence in Lancaster. Lancaster PD was able to catch up with him there. They took him into custody without incident after a brief pursuit."

Routh is facing two counts of capital murder and is being held on a combined $3,000,000 bond.

Kyle served four combat tours in Iraq and wrote the best-selling book, American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History.
