1 person dies in morning accident on Hwy 155 in Cass Co

UPDATE: (KYTX) - Kolton Lee Perry, 20, of Avinger has been identified as the man who died in the morning wreck on Highway 155 and Highway 49 near Avinger.

Daniel Thomas Hallisey of Wake Village is identified as the driver of the 18-wheeler.

According to DPS, Perry may have fallen asleep while driving after working an overnight shift at Weatherford in Longview.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

 


CASS COUNTY (KYTX) - Texas Department of Transportation confirms with CBS 19 that a fatal accident occurred Tuesday morning on Highway 155 and Hwy 49.

 

According to DPS a tractor trailer was driving southwest on Hwy 155 when a 2003 S10 pickup truck traveling northeast drifted over into the southwest lanes and was struck by the 18-wheeler's trailer.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead on the scene.

Names of the people involved in the accident have not been released at this time until next of kin is notified.
