UPDATE: At least one person injured in Houston County explosion

HOUSTON COUNTY (KYTX) - Houston County Sheriff's Office confirmed that emergency crews are on the scene of an oil field site explosion near Weldon.

The explosion happened around noon Tuesday on County Road 3575.

There are reports of possible injuries.

Weldon, Lovelady, Austonio and Crockett Volunteer Fire Departments responded to an alleged explosion at the Navidad Resources Weldon Gas Processing Plant.  The plant is located on CR 3575 in Weldon, and the incident left at least one person injured.

From Houston County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator David Lamb:
It was a small gas explosion at the Navidad Resources Weldon Gas Processing plant.  Two tanks caught on fire. One person was airlifted to Houston. Two service trucks were damaged. One was destroyed and one may be salvageable.
