EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - It's a big day for high school athletes across East Texas. Today is National Signing Day.
Big time news broke Tuesday evening -- two John Tyler star football players switched schools for National Signing Day. Fred Ross will not go to Oklahoma State. He instead opted for the SEC and will sign with Mississippi State. Tyus Bowser, once an Oklahoma State commit, will now sign with Houston -- that's where his teammate and quarterback Greg Ward is going.
Fourteen Longview High School student athletes on Wednesday morning signed national letters of intent to study and play at the college level. The standouts from the football, and ladies' track and soccer programs made their written commitments in the presence of family, coaches and classmates during a special ceremony in the Lobo Turf Room.
Soccer commitments: Jennifer Boudreau – University of Memphis Keeley Bowles – Tyler Junior College
Track commitment: Amber Redic – Stephen F. Austin State University
