UPDATE: City of Rusk rescinds boil water notice

UPDATE: (RUSK) - City of Rusk rescinds the boil water notice issued on Thursday.

According to a release, the system the City use has taken the necessary actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and or bacteriological quality.

The City has provided TCEQ with the testing results that the water no longer requires boiling as of Friday, February 8, 2013.

RUSK (KYTX) - Due to a water main break the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Rusk to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.

 

According to the noticed issued, people should boil any water used for drinking, cooking and making ice in order to destroy any harmful bacteria and other microbes.

Water system officials will notify all customers when the water is safe for consumption.

Customers that are affected live in the areas of 4100 FM 343 to FM 2972 including Hilltop Dr. and Summerbreeze. The notice is for those who also live along FM 2972 to Hwy. 69 including Black Ln. and Tiffany St as well as Hwy. 69 north from FM 2972.
