Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office:
NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) - The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office
has arrested three people in connection with two different drug
investigations. Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that Deputies went to a
residence located on Muller Street in Nacogdoches, Texas for further
investigation of narcotics activity. The Sheriff Office had received
information of suspicious activity in the area. Bridges stated that
deputies had also made a seizure of narcotics earlier in the month
that helped officers gain further information about drug activity in
the area.
Sheriff Bridges stated that
surveillance was conducted on the house to identify drug activity.
During the surveillance, deputies observed what they believed to be
drug transactions occurring in front of the residence. Upon contact
with the homeowner, Deputies observed the suspect's inside the
residence were smoking marijuana.
Deputies obtained consent to search
the residence and found 9 grams of crystal methamphetamine, several
grams of marijuana, numerous packaging material, digital scales and
marijuana smoking pipes scattered throughout the residence.
Raul Alvarez 25 years of age and Samuel
Hale 25 years of age both from Nacogdoches, Texas were both arrested
for Possession of Controlled Substance a 2nd felony. Both
subjects were transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail.
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office
also arrested another subject for dangerous drugs after a traffic
stop on FM 343. SGT. Davidson with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff
Office stopped a Hyundai passenger car for a traffic violation
Wednesday morning. After speaking with the driver, Sgt. Davidson
became suspicious of criminal activity due to the driver's demeanor
and nervousness. Sgt. Davidson obtained consent to search the motor
vehicle and found a large amount of narcotics pills inside the
vehicle.
David Almaraz was
arrested at the scene for possession of a dangerous drug and
transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. Sheriff Bridges stated
that Almaraz is also a person of interest in a theft case on
prescription medication that had been reported stolen. The sheriff
office is in the process of identifying these pills with the ones
that were stolen, more charges may be filed at a later date.
