The Baylor University Board of Regents announced Friday that they'll begin fundraising for a 100-million dollar business school building.
It's been several decades since any major changes have been done to the university's school of business building.
This new building is expected to expand the school's size by almost 40-percent.
This new business building is suppose to be state of the art with top notch technology.
Current Baylor students said that's exactly what their business school needs.
Baylor sophomore Kristine Gordon just received the email about the new building when we walked up.
"I was just reading the new plans for the new business school," said Gordon.
The university plans to build a 275-square foot business building filled with all the latest technology to advance their students.
"It would defiantly expand the school a lot because business is probably the biggest major here at Baylor, so it will attract a lot more students especially if they had a facility that was just so technology advanced," said Gordon.
And other students couldn't agree more.
"This one needs some definite updates, classrooms are a little old," said Baylor junior Ryan Massad.
But there will be nothing old about this building.
"It will have more communal spaces I think, also in a lot of businesses today you see that. So there's not always necessarily business today just have the traditional offices," said Board of Regents Chairman Richard Willis.
The building will also have a large centerpiece atrium, 350-seat auditorium, and a variety of classroom spaces.
"I think it's really exciting that we'll be able to have a building 100-million dollar investment in a new academic building just like the science building did for us a decade ago. That will put Baylor at the top," said Willis.
And at the top is exactly where Kristine said Baylor deserves to be.
"I just hope that it turns out as spectacular as it looks in the email that I was just reading because it looks really cool," said Gordon.
With the help of donors and Baylor alumni, the school hopes to have all the funds raised by the end of the year.
The business building should take 18-months to two years to build.
If everything goes as planned we can expect it to be up and running by spring of 2016.
