TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Junior
College's efforts to improve student success are the subject of new television
show that is airing on Suddenlink Cable Channel 20, an educational access
channel for Tyler and Whitehouse subscribers.
The episode
currently being broadcast is the second edition of "Dream Big: the Achieving the
Dream Initiative at TJC."
The show is
hosted by TJC graduate and former Tyler news anchor Bryan Houston who serves as
sports director and sports talk show host with 99.3 TALK FM.
Achieving
the Dream is a national reform
network dedicated to community college student success and completion, focused
primarily on helping low-income students and students of color complete their
education and obtain market-valued credentials.
The new
episode of the TV show, produced with the assistance of the Tyler Independent
School District and TISD TV, details progress made to improve student engagement
and increase success rates in remedial mathematics.
The show is
scheduled to air at the following times on Channel 20: Mondays at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Tuesdays at 10 a.m., 1
p.m. and 4 p.m.; Wednesdays at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.; and Thursdays at 9
a.m. and 1 p.m.
