SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - On Monday, Smith County Sheriff's Office dispatcher received numerous calls of residential burglaries reported along County Road 191 in southeastern Smith County.
Patrol deputies were dispatched to this area and contacted the victims in the burglary cases.
During the course of this investigation sheriff's deputies and a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper located a black male wearing a bright orange hoodie. He had a nylon bag with the items obtained in three burglaries from County Road 191.
Detectives arrived at the scene to assist in the investigation. The 21 year old, black male identified as Jermaine Lashone Kennedy from Whitehouse showed investigators locations he had burglarized on County Road 191 and County Road 1313. Approximately $6,000 in stolen property was recovered.
The recovered items ranged from firearms and cameras to Kendall Fires tablets and Wii devices.
Jermaine Kennedy was booked in to the Smith County Jail and charged with burglary of a habitation. Bond was set by State District Judge Kerry Russell at $35,000. Kennedy remains in jail at this time.

Crime stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for any information that leads to arrest and charges filed in this case or any felony case.
