Longview ISD releases 2013-2014 school calendar

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Longview ISD students will return from summer break on August 26, under the official district calendar approved February 11 by the board of trustees. (Texas public schools are not allowed to begin the school year until the fourth Monday of August.) The school year is set to wrap up June 6, 2014.

Other key 2013-14 dates:

Nov. 25-29 – Thanksgiving holidays

Dec. 23 – Jan. 6 (2014) – Christmas holidays (Jan. 6 is a staff only day)

March 10-14 – Spring Break

A printed version of the calendar will be distributed prior to the beginning of the 2013-14 school year and will be posted online at w3.lisd.org in the coming weeks.
