HOUSTON (KHOU) — Houston police are searching for a baby that may have been dumped at a north Houston apartment complex.

Police are carefully canvassing the grounds at the La Casita apartments on Sunnyside near Werner trying to find the infant.

Police said the mother, who is in the hospital, is being uncooperative. She is giving conflicting statements of exactly when the baby was born, only saying that she wrapped it in a blanket and dumped it in trash.

Trash service has been stopped and officers are looking in dumpsters.
