New eatery called Bistrolls set for Tyler

Posted: Updated:

Nine months after the Downtown Coffee Lounge closed for business, a new eatery called Bistrolls plans to reopen the doors in April.

For more on this story, we go live to Megan Middleton with our news partner the Tyler Morning Telegraph …

Megan, what is this new restaurant going to serve customers?

It's going to serve "create your own" sushi rolls and healthy versions of traditional Asian dishes, as well as coffee and breakfast.

Customers will be able to customize their sushi rolls by picking out their own ingredients …

We're told nearly everything there will be infused with healthy ingredients.

And who is opening the restaurant?

The idea came from Johnny Chang, who is the general manager of Shogun in Tyler. He's partnering with Tae (TAY) Park, the owner of Shogun, to bring the new restaurant to Tyler.

Chang said he will still help Park with decisions at Shogun, but he will run Bistrolls.

We're told they plan to open in early April and have six or seven employees.

For more on the foods and drinks planned for the new restaurant and how Chang got into the restaurant business, read Casey Murphy's story in tomorrow's Tyler Morning Telegraph.
