LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Jim Amos came to Albertsons Sunday to grab some ribs for a Sunday afternoon cookout.

He parked next to this red truck, and says he didn't believe what the owners told him at first --- that their might be a bomb in the back of their truck.

"I thought they may be kidding me really, but when I came back out and saw Police roping it off I knew it was real. So I got in my truck and left" - Amos

A little before 2 on Sunday, Longview Police were called to Albertsons off of Loop 281.

Police say it was a plastic pipe with a cap on each end.

Police immediately evacuated the parking lot and contacted the Bossier City Bomb Squad.

Kristie Brian with Longview Police says it was dealt with quickly.

"They basically shot water into the device to crack it open. Which it turned out to only have paper inside." - Brian.

Police say even though it was nothing, the owners did the right thing." - Kevin Boyce

"He definitely did the right thing, he didn't know what it was and called us immediately" - Brian

Police are still unsure where the device came from, or who put it there.

For Jim Amos, he is really glad he got out of there.

"It's really scary to me, especially since they don't know where it came from."
