When deputies arrived they observed a white male subject identified as Johnny Deskus, white male 6/21/1963, shot in the left thigh.

The suspect and the victim began working on the vehicle and an argument ensued between the pair regarding the work being done. The complainants Deskus reportedly displayed a stun gun and suspect Godwin allegedly removed a pistol from the truck and reportedly fired a shot from a .40 caliber pistol at Deskus, hitting him in the left thigh.

Johnny Deskus was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital Marshall, for treatment of the gunshot. Chance Godwin was arrested at the scene and placed in jail for a second degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The weapon was recovered at the scene.
