EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - High pressure settled over Texas last night and gave us sunny skies today. As the high moves eastward, clouds will move in tonight ahead of an approaching storm system from the west.
Rain and a few thunderstorms will develop Wednesday morning and increase through the afternoon and night as a warm front starts to move across the state from the south. There will be a chance of severe storms both Wednesday and Thursday. Winds will be strong with 30 mph gusts from the east and southeast Wednesday.
Friday through the weekend look mostly sunny with just a slight chance of showers Saturday. We also could see a few showers and thunderstorms Monday. High temperatures Wednesday will be in the low 50s, then they will climb into the 60s with lows mostly in the 40s the rest of the week.
