EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - A storm system will continue to approach from the west tonight and draw a warm front into East Texas before sunrise Thursday. Periods of light rain have been occurring this morning and afternoon with occasional sleet mixed in along and north of I-20.
Occasional thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon and increase tonight.
There is a slight risk of severe weather for all of East Texas mainly Thursday morning. There will be a threat of damaging thunderstorm winds, up to 3/4-inch hail and even a few isolated tornadoes.
The rain will end Thursday afternoon. The weather will be cool and mostly dry from Friday through the middle of next week.
