Before hopping on their 4 1/2 hour bus ride to Brownwood, the Lady Patriots called a players-only meeting. The UT-Tyler women's team hasn't made it to the ASC tourney since the 2008-2009 season and now that they're back, they want to prove that's where they belong.
With only two seniors on the roster and a new head coach in Kevin Baker, the team has seen its share of ups and downs but found ways to pull through conference play 12-7. They're currently tied for most wins in program history with 17 of them and they could make history with their 18th win on Friday. The program has never had a tournament win either.
The Lady Pats face Concordia at 2:30 Friday. Concordia beat UT-Tyler in overtime during the regular season at the Louise Herrington Patriot Center.
