City of Tyler:

TYLER (KYTX) - The City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is seeking entries for the "2013 Life in Tyler" photography contest.  Entries will be accepted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., March 4-8, 2013.

"We are looking for photos that are outside the box this year and not just portraits," said Debbie Isham, special events and recreation manager.

Photos will be exhibited at the Rose Garden Center during the 2013 Azalea Trails, March 16-30. 

Ribbons and prizes will be awarded for the Best of Show entry as well as first, second and third place for each category.  Photo categories include:

•           "Family and Friends Enjoying a Recreational Event";

•           "Wildlife in a Tyler Park";

•           "Family Time";

•           "Historic Tyler";

•           "Outdoor Events in Tyler";

•           "Abstract Tyler";

•           "Macro Tyler";

•           "Birds in Tyler"; and

•           Flora and Fauna in Tyler.

Entry classifications are available for both amateur and professional photographers as well as separate age categories for adults and youth.  Each entry must be matted and either 5"x7" or 8"x10" with the single matte no larger than 11"x14".

Registration forms are available online at www.TylerParksandRec.com or at the Parks and Recreation office at 2000 W. Front St.
