Fire crews contain brush fire that threatened structures

UPDATE: SMITH COUNTy (KYTX) - Firefighters from several agencies responded to a brush fire Tuesday that threatened several structures, officials said.

The fire began just after 2 p.m. near CR 17156 on Ravenwood Drive in Flint. Crews from Bullard, Noonday and Flint volunteer fire departments responded, along with two Smith County fire marshals and a Texas Forest Service unit.

A mobile home and several structures were saved, official said. Control was called on the fire at 3:21 p.m.



SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - Noonday Firefighters with the assistance of Bullard Fire Department, Flint Fire Department and Texas Forestry Service are on the scene of a fire on Highway 155.

According to Smith County Fire Marshal's Office, the fire at 17156 Ravenwood Dr. is threatening a neighborhood and is extremely close to a mobile home.

Firefighters are using plows to help control the fire. Two Fire Marshals have been called to the scene to assist.

KYTX CBS 19 has a crew en route.
