Ex-Lindale firefighter sentenced to 180 days in jail for DWI crash

SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - Christopher Combs, 29, of Lindale was sentenced to 180 days in jail for DWI on Tuesday, records show.

Combs, who was a Lindale firefighter, was charged after a crash where he was reportedly going over 100 mph in north Tyler.

Combs wrecked his car at the Pit Stop Exxon on Gentry Parkway around 2:45 a.m. on November 27, 2011. He reportedly hit a pump and barely missed a clerk, according to previous CBS coverage.

He was arrested July 29 and bonded out shortly after.
