UPDATE: Longview PD investigating shooting at local motel

UPDATE: LONGVIEW (KYTX) - On February 26, 2013 at 10:17 p.m., Officers responded to a shooting at the Globe Inn Motel, located at 1300 East Marshall Avenue. When officers arrived they were told a black male, identified as Will Cox Jr., 37 of Longview, and several other subjects were involved in an altercation.

Witnesses said Cox allegedly shot 29 year-old Darkis Ramond Vaughn once in the leg. He then turned the weapon on a 29 year-old female victim and threatened to shoot her as well. He fired the weapon several more times striking the rear of the car the female victim was sitting in. Cox then fled the scene of the crime.

He was located a short time later near Teague Park. Cox was arrested for Deadly Conduct F/3 and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon F/2. He was transported to the Gregg County Jail without incident.

 


LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Longview police are investigating a shooting that happened either late Tuesday or early this morning at the Globe Inn, on East Marshall Avenue.

Gregg County Jail online records show the arrest of 37-year-old Will Cox, Jr., of Longview. Cox was arrested this morning on East Whaley Street at American Legion Blvd. on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct-discharging a firearm. Bond has not been set.

Cox's arrest location is fewer than five blocks from the scene of the shooting.
