Web Exclusive: Uncle Sam will pay $2,800 on average for refunds

(CBS/CNN) - About 75 percent of taxpayers will get a refund from Uncle Sam this year.  The typical refund will average about $2,800.  A new survey finds 44% of people will use that money to pay down debt, more than 30 percent will save it and 22% will spend it on vacations and electronics.

Big changes coming to some Wendy's this year.  The company says they're going to close up to 130 restaurants because they're not making enough money.  But Wendy's CEO says rebuilding or remodeling increases profits by 25%.  So they plan to 'spruce up' about 300 company owned stores by 2015.

Almost 8 years to the day she got out of prison, Martha Stewart returns to court today.  She's defending her company in a breach of contract suit.  She's scheduled to testify in the civil case  pitting JC Penney against retail rival Macy's over their relationship with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.  At issue -- whether Macy's has the exclusive right to sell some of Stewart's branded products. The trial could take three weeks.

A new study shows employer credit checks are preventing the nation's hardest-hit job seekers from entering the workforce.  One in four unemployed Americans have been required to go through a credit check when applying for a job and one in 10 have been denied jobs due to information in their credit report.  That's according to a survey by liberal think-tank demos of about a thousand low and middle-income households with credit card debt.  The report's author says employer credit checks are common and they're preventing people from getting jobs.
