Tyler Police arrest Burglar at Army Navy Store

TYLER (KYTX) - Two Tyler Police officers are in the right place at the right time to stop a burglar.

Tyler Police say the motorcycle officers were riding by the Army Navy Store on Loop 323 in Tyler when they heard the alarm going off. They found a large hole cut into the back of the building and the suspect trying to escape into the woods.

Officers say they detained 20 year old Richard Moore who confessed to breaking into the Army Navy Store.  Police tell us that in Moore's possession were a small axe, gloves and a flashlight.

Moore was taken to ETMC for an unrelated injury and was later booked into the Smith County Jail on burglary charges.
