Marshall man found dead inside home, police in search of suspect

MARSHALL (KYTX) - On Friday, March 8, 2013 at approximately 1:27a.m., Marshall Police Department Communications received a 911 call in reference to a male subject inside a residence with blood on him and unable to get him to come to the door.

Marshall Police Officer's as well as Marshall Firefighters/EMT responded to 501 Georgetown Road located inside the city limits of Marshall, where a black male was found with a single gun shot to the head.

The black male subject who was later identified as 28-year-old David James Cherry was pronounced dead on scene by Justice of the Peace Kenneth Alford.

The Marshall Police Department is asking the public for any information on this homicide to please contact the Marshall Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 903-935-4540. Any after hour calls may be directed to MPD Dispatch at 903-935-4575 or Crimestoppers at 903-935-9969.

The investigation is on going.
