SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) -

Dixie fire fighters worked for several hours Thursday morning to contain a house fire.

It happened in the 3600 block of Glenda Avenue near Greenbriar Road. The fire engulfed most of the house before fire fighters were able to get it under control. They told CBS 19 several cats and dogs were killed in the fire. One cat was saved. No humans were hurt.

The fire is still under investigation.

CBS 19 has a crew on the scene. We'll have more details as the become available.
