Slight chance of rain Sunday, Monday across East Texas

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - High pressure remains in place along the Gulf Coast, and low pressure is deepening across the South Plains increasing the winds across East Texas. Lake Wind Advisories are in effect until 6 p.m. Temperatures are warming through the 70s and will be close to 80 degrees this afternoon. Similar conditions will exist Saturday with south winds gusting to 35 mph.

There will be a slight chance of rain Sunday and early Monday as a cold front slides into the area. There will be a better chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night and Thursday. High temperatures will stay in the 70s through Monday before dropping into the upper 60s Tuesday and Wednesday. Lows will be in the 50s through Monday and fall into the mid to high 40s Tuesday and Wednesday.
