Posted: Updated:

When you hear the term biker, you may think of someone rough and rugged, but Saturday many Central Texas bikers proved they have a softer side.

The road warriors helped raise thousands of dollars, to make dreams come true for kids battling life threatening illnesses.

"Anytime there's a fundraiser for the Dreamcatchers we're right here," said rider Charles Abbott.

The fundraiser will go to kids at Scott and White Hospital battling life threatening illnesses.

"it's just an awesome feeling, you just have no idea, it's an incredible feeling to be able to help out these children to be able to go to camp," said Deborah Abbott.

The children get to spend a week at camp Dreamcatcher in Somerville Texas with other children just like them.

and it's all thanks to these fine men and women.

"For a lot of the motorcycle community they have very giving hearts, they enjoy giving, helping children particularly and we've got a great hog group here that really puts in an effort to help these kids," said Richard Botts.

Since 2002 the Horny Toad Chapter has raised thousands to make dreams a reality for Scott and white children battling life threatening diseases.

Each year the benefit brings in about six thousand dollars, allowing hundreds of children to go to camp with no extra financial burden for mom and dad.

"For some of us it will bring a tear to your eye because they grin ear to ear and they love it," said Botts.

the Horny Toad Hog chapter will meet up with the kids and escort them to the camp for a week.

"We meet them at Scott and White, we let them sit on the bikes and rev them up its just a really awesome day when we're able to escort them," said Paula Feiro.

And it's moments like that, that make this all worthwhile for Deborah and Charles.

"It makes me feel good to know that you know somebody's going to go to camp because of the donations that we make," said Deborah Abbott.

With smiling faces, and good food, this year's benefit is sure to bring a lot of smiles to many kids faces.

If you'd like to help, the "Horny Toad Harley Davidson Shop in Temple will be accepting donations until the end of June.
