UPDATE: Dog that attacked Rusk County boy euthanized

UPDATE: According to Rusk County officials, the dog that attacked a 9-year-old boy last week has been euthanized.

The dog is believed to have been a pit bull mix.

The owner of the dog could face Attack by Dog charge under the Texas Health and Safety Code 822.005.

 


RUSK COUNTY (KYTX) - Rusk County investigators are waiting to find out if dog that attacked a 9-year-old boy last week has rabies.

 

Justice of the Peace Joe Sorrels says it happened in the 190 block of Deer Trail outside Henderson last Tuesday, and he ordered the dog be put down Monday.

He could not confirm that the dog had been euthanized.

The child was released from the hospital.
