Three people died in South China after a tornado hit the region.

The tornado knocked down several buildings and powerlines.

More than two-thousand policemen, firefighters and officials are helping with the rescue efforts.

Meanwhile in East China, a severe thunderstorm and large hailstones caused economic losses of about 2 million U.S. dollars.

There were no fatalities in that storm.
