UPDATE: MINEOLA (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - A Mineola man died Thursday morning in a one vehicle crash.

The wreck happened in the 700 block of East McDonald Street around just before 11 a.m., according to a news release from the Mineola Police Department.

A 2003 4-door Lexus driven by 54-year-old Jay Forrest Corley was found south of the road on its side, the release states.

Corley died at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.

Police Chief Chuck Bittner declined to release any details on how the crash occurred.

 


MINEOLA (KYTX) - Mineola Police responded to a one vehicle accident Thursday morning that left the driver dead.

 

The accident happened around 10:59 a.m. in the 700 block of East McDonald Street.

It is believed that the 54-year-old man had a medical condition which caused him to drive off the roadway and overcorrect his car before flipping it onto its side.

According to Mineola Police, the man died on the scene from his injuries. He was the only person in the Lexus car.

His identity is not being released at this time.
