Update from Press Release:

VAN ZANDT COUNTY (KYTX) - One man is in the Van Zandt County jail, another recovering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and a woman dead after a shooting near van early Sunday morning.

Just after 6am the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office got a call from Larry Maples who said he had just shot his wife and her boyfriend in the 2600 block of FM 16.

Investigators say Maples parked his truck down the street from the home, walked to it. The press release says Maples saw his wife's car parked in the driveway and found an unlocked door to enter the home.

Once inside, investigators determined Maples shot the home owner, Moses Clemente after a fight, then shot and killed his wife Heather Maples.

Heather Maples was pronounced dead at the scene by a justice of the peace.

Van Zandt County Sheriff Lindsey Ray contacted the Texas Rangers to investigate and got search warrants for the home where the shooting took place as well as Maples home in Ben Wheeler.

Clemente was taken to Trinity Mother Frances hospital to be treated, he is expected to make a full recovery.

Maples was taken to the Van Zandt County jail and will be charged with capital murder.

Update:

The Van Zandt County Sheriff's office and the Texas Rangers are still investigating at this time.

We have a crew waiting to speak with the Sheriff now, and will give you more information as we get it.
