Engineer says objects found in Buna appear to be from Chinese rocket

Posted:
BUNA -

An unusual discovery was made near Buna.  It's something that has Jasper County officials in contact with NASA.

A landowner found what appears to be a pressure tank from a Chinese rocket on his property.  The property is located off FM 1004 on County Road 639 in the Cairo Springs community.

The object is the size of a beach ball, and about a nine inch crater.  And if this were not strange enough, Jasper County Judge Mark Allen says a similar tank was found about two miles from this site a month ago.   He believes it's from the same rocket.

Jasper County has not yet heard back from NASA, but an aerospace engineer from California has responded to county requests.  William Ailor told county authorities that best candidate for the source of both objects is the Chinese CZ-4B rocket body.  He says the final flight path for that object passed very near the area where the objects were found.
