KILGORE (KYTX) - On Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at approximately 5:04 p.m., Kilgore Police Officers responded to 1711 S. Henderson Blvd., Suite 500, in reference to a robbery that just occurred. Information obtained from witnesses at the scene revealed that an unknown suspect forcefully took a money bag, which contained a large sum of currency, from a female victim before fleeing East bound through the parking lot toward S. Henderson Blvd. The suspect was last seen approaching the roadway of S. Henderson Blvd.

A perimeter was quickly established by Kilgore Police and Kilgore College Police Officers. A Kilgore Police K-9 team was activated, along with the Texas DPS Air Unit, in an attempt to locate the fleeing suspect. The K-9 team tracked the fleeing suspect through a wooded area and across a creek until the scent trail terminated near the intersection of Dwain Dr. and Hays St. in Kilgore, Gregg County, TX.

The suspect was described as being 5' 10 to 5' 11" in height and wearing jeans with a dark-colored, pullover-type sweatshirt referred to as "a hoodie". The witnesses could not advise any further identifying information for the suspect at the scene. No weapons were involved in this incident and no further information is available at this time.

Currently this investigation has revealed no other victims; however, the investigation is still ongoing.
