Health Alert: No link between early vaccinations and Autism

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - A new study finds no connection between receiving vaccines too soon, and Autism. The research, published in the Journal of Pediatrics, looked at about 1000 children and the multiple vaccines they received up to age two. Scientists found no difference in the number of vaccine antigens between children developing normally and those with Autism. An estimated one in ten parents refuse or delay vaccinations because of autism concerns even though there is no scientific evidence linking them.

(CBS) -  Eating more fiber could decrease your risk of a stroke. British researchers found increasing your total daily fiber intake by seven grams decreases the risk of first time stroke by seven percent. Seven grams of fiber is equal to one serving of whole wheat pasta plus two servings of fruits and vegetables.

(CBS) - Since its first round of anti-smoking ads were so successful, the Centers for Disease Control is launching a new series. The new ads launch Monday and feature real-life former smokers telling their stories. The CDC says last year calls to the hotline "800-quit-now" doubled while the anti-smoking ads were running.
