N. Korea on standby to attack U. S. military bases

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - North Korea has ordered it's rocket units to standby to attack U.S. military bases in South Korea and the Pacific.

North Korean leader Kim Kong-un ordered the move after an emergency meeting early Friday morning. The US flew Stealth B2 Bombers over South Korea this week in a mock bombing mission. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel says the mission was part of normal military exercises. He added that the display was also a message to US allies in South Korea and Japan that America takes the threats from North Korea very seriously.
