Entertainment News: Bieber loses pet Monkey at customs

(CNN) - Justin Bieber's pet monkey "O.G. Mally" won't be on his back - or anywhere near him - at least while he's in Germany. TMZ reports the animal was put into quarantine by authorities in that country. Reports say the singer was going through customs at the Munich Airport when the furry friend caught authorities' attention. The monkey apparently lacked the proper documentation to enter Germany - so Mally was taken away and held for safekeeping.


(CNN) - Michael Jackson's mother heads to court in Los Angeles tomorrow, to battle the concert promoter, AEG Live. Jury selection begins to decide whether AEG was responsible for Michael Jackson's death because it hired the doctor that gave him a lethal overdose. Katherine Jackson is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars from AEG. She claims her son would have gone on to make a fortune in album, concert and other sales. The trial is expected to last three months and will include testimony from Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson's three children.


(CNN) - One of the stars of the TV show Glee has checked into rehab. Cory Monteith's rep issued a statement, saying -- quote: "he has voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction. He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery." According to People Magazine, the 30 year old actor has talked openly about his past struggles with substance abuse. It reports Monteith had previously gone to rehab when he was 19 years old.

 


(CNN) - "G.I. Joe - Retaliation" fought its way to the top of the Easter weekend box office heap. The second installment of the series - inspired by the iconic action figures - took in more than $41.2 million dollars from Friday through Sunday. "Retaliation" stars Channing Tatum and The Rock as members of an elite military fighting force. Dreamworks animated feature "The Croods" - following the exploits of a prehistoric family - pulled up in second place with $26.5 million dollars. In third place - Tyler Perry's latest - "Temptation", which pulled in $22.3 million dollars in ticket sales.
