UPDATE: HOPKINS COUNTY (CNN) - Sgt. Brad Cummings with Hopkins County Sheriff's Office in Texas tells CNN that they are searching for two jail inmates who escaped Hopkins County jail Tuesday morning around 8:20 a.m.

The inmates, Brian Allen Tucker and John Marlin King are believed to have scaled a rec yard fence (about 10 feet in height and covered in barbed wire) while they were in the rec yard at the time.

Hopkins County Sheriff's office was advised to set up a perimeter. Sheriff's deputies did locate jail clothes (black and white stripes) in close proximity to the jail. Cummings says his office isn't sure if the escapees are on foot or in a vehicle. Sheriff's office wants to warn people in the area to not approach the escapees, they are considered extremely dangerous.

There are multiple agencies assisting Hopkins County Sheriff's office including the Texas Rangers.  Hopkins also added that there are 9 schools currently on lockdown in Sulphur Springs.  6 others on lockdown in Hopkins County outside the city limits of Sulphur Springs.

SULPHUR SPRINGS/HOPKINS COUNTY (KYTX) - Two East Texas school districts - Sulphur Springs ISD, and Sulphur Bluff ISD - are on lockdown after two inmates, including a capital murder suspect, escape the Hopkins County Jail, a jail spokeswoman says.

Hopkins County Sheriff's dispatcher Beth Renfro said the inmates - 45-year-old Brian Allen Tucker, and 40-year-old John Marlin King - escaped from the jail this morning. Their striped prison uniforms were found on the ground near the jail, she said.

Tucker is described as 5'7", 171 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a light mustache and goatee, with a tattoo around his neck, like barbed wire. King is 5'8", 165 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. He has a light mustache and goatee.

Renfro said Sulphur Springs ISD and Sulphur Bluff ISD were placed on precautionary lockdown, according to Renfro and SSISD Information Officer Sherry Chester.

Tucker, of Mesquite, was awaiting trial on an April 2011 strangling of Bobby Riley in the Hopkins County community of Mahoney, according to KETR radio. Investigators said Tucker stole musical instruments from Riley's home, and the Hopkins County District Attorney had announced to KETR in March 2012 that he was seeking the death penalty against Tucker.
