LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - A Longview woman wanted on a grand jury indictment for credit card abuse now faces a drug charge.

Brittany Nichole Mullens, 24, was arrested Monday afternoon during a traffic stop on Harrison Road near the Gregg County Precinct 3 Barn. According to Gregg County sheriff's deputy Tracy Freeman, Mullens was a passenger in a car driven by Shelby Martin, 21, of Longview. Martin was speeding, and during the traffic stop, he acknowledged that he didn't have a driver's license and had several past citations with Longview Police Department for driving without a license.

Freeman arrested Martin for the traffic violation and later found about 1.3 grams of methamphetamine in his right front pocket, according to court records. Mullens was later arrested on a warrant for credit card/debit card abuse, and she admitted to Freeman that she had about 12.3 grams of narcotics in her purse, along with scales and plastic bags, records show.

Mullens is in the Gregg County Jail on $50,000 bond, charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and the credit card abuse indictment. Martin remains jailed on $5,000 bond, charged with possession of a controlled substance.
