Showers, thunderstorms expected tonight through Thursday

Posted: Updated:
EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Low pressure near the Metroplex has produced a cluster of showers and thunderstorms between Dallas and Waco this afternoon. This area of rain is nearly stationary.

Showers with occasional thunder are expected to increase in East Texas this afternoon and tonight. Severe weather is not expected, but rainfall could reach an inch over the next couple of days.

Wednesday will be cooler when a cold front finally drifts through the area tonight. At 2 p.m. Tuesday, temperatures were in the upper 70s across most of East Texas, but 60s were north of I-30 and low 50s could be found in southern Arkansas. High temperatures Wednesday for most of our area will be in the low to mid 50s.

The rain will end Thursday morning, and we will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 70s this the weekend. There will be a slight chance of rain Sunday through Tuesday.
