Salvation Army Kick Off Family Fun Run scheduled for Saturday

Posted: Updated:

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Salvation Army Longview is breaking from recent tradition, adding a different type of event to its list of annual fundraisers.

The nonprofit agency will hold a Kick Off Family Fun Run at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 13, in Heritage Plaza in downtown Longview.

Publicist Kim Brown says the fun run is the first fundraiser of its kind for Salvation Army Longview in more than two decades, outside of kettle bell ringers and the Angel Tree Network at Christmas time.

Registration is at 7 a.m. for the 1K and 5K races, and face paiting, a bounce house and more family fun activities are planned, Brown said. You can also register online by visiting www.Facebook.com/SalvationArmyLongview. Entry fee is $25.
