Children Are A Gift: Kensheia and Chloe

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) – Kensheia and her sister, Chloe, enjoyed a peaceful afternoon riding horses at Rockin' C Ranch in Lindale.
"They are both very adventurous teenagers," said Ashley Gipson, with Child Protective Services.
Spending time together is important for these sisters because life has not always been easy. "It makes me cry when I'm not with my momma and when I am split-up from my sisters," said Kensheia.

"They are actually part of a sibling group of five but the younger three siblings have been adopted," said Gipson.

These sisters were recently reunited after being separated in different foster homes. They have been in foster care about four years.  Chloe said, "I want to be somewhere where it's safe and all that."

Gipson explained, "Their life experience has been that of a 20-year-old. So they've been through a lot at such a young age."

Kensheia, or "KeKe" as she prefers to be called, is the oldest.  She fourteen and enjoys sports.  "I play basketball, volleyball and run track."

"She's a leader and a very smart girl.  She has the potential to do anything she puts her mind to. She just needs that extra push," said Gipson.

Chloe is twelve and, like her sister, is also athletic.  "I like to play basketball and I like to go out to the movies," she said.

"She's more of the talkative one.  Even though KeKe is older, Chloe runs the show at times," Gipson said.

They both enjoy school and hope to go to college. Chloe said, "My favorite subject is science." KeKe said about the eighth-grade, "It's good, but teachers are strict."

These sisters would benefit from stability and consistency in a forever family.
They also need encouragement and support as they enter the next phase of their lives.

KeKe said, "I really don't know what it's like to have a dad around."  Ashley added, "They need a strong role model in their life."

These sisters are ready to start over, as long as they have each other.
