After four seasons on the diamond with the UT Tyler Patriots, senior pitcher E.H. Almand got his very first college career start on Tuesday evening against Dallas Christian.
The Grace graduate is one of only two people still at the university who's been part of the baseball program since the day it started, back in 2004 when he was a bat boy.
He'll always have a special connection to the program after his father E.H. Almand, a professor at UT Tyler passed away of a heart attack in 2004.
Before Tuesday's game, E.H. had six career appearances for the Patriots but it's his impact off the field that's always been felt around the program.
